Ryanair announce three sun routes for winter
Ryanair have today (Thursday May 29) announced three new destinations from Glasgow Prestwick Airport.
From the end of October they will operate flights to the popular sunshine destinations of Malaga, Tenerife and Faro. Seats are already on sale!
The announcement further strengthens Glasgow Prestwick’s route network, bringing the total number of scheduled destinations operated by Ryanair to 29 following several new route announcements in the last year.
Ryanair will also introduce an additional daily flight on their Belfast service, which currently operates once a day.
Mark Rodwell, Chief Executive of Glasgow Prestwick Airport, commented: “Today’s announcement once again demonstrates Ryanair’s commitment to expand and offer the best choice of European routes from Glasgow Prestwick.

The new route from Prestwick Airport to Cork will start on 13th December 2007 with flights operating daily.

New route to Budapest, Hungary from Prestwick Airport commences 1 November 2007, with 3 flights per week.
Budapest is a truly historic city, retaining memories of the Romans, Turks, Hapsburgs and Soviets – all of whom have occupied it for various periods of time. The city is split from north to south by the Danube. Travellers with limited time should ensure they see the quaint, cobbled streets of Castle Hill on the Buda side and visit one of the historical thermal baths situated near its foot. On the Pest side, the Parliament building dominates the river bank. In the middle of the Danube to the north of the centre is Margaret Island, where you can relax and escape from the traffic and hubbub of the city. Budapest's a great destination for those in search of spa treatment (there are 123 thermal springs) and ancillary medical facilities, including cosmetic dentistry and weight reduction. Shoppers - Look out for bargains in traditional embroidery, Herend china, leather and handcrafted goods. Craft markets are located at Marcibanyi Square and up on Castle Hill during high season. The new service from Glasgow Prestwick to Riga commences on 1 Nov 2006 with four flights per week.
Riga, the capital of Latvia is the largest of the three baltic states with nearly 800,000 inhabitants and is the commercial heart and cultural centre of the country.
